Welcome, everybody!

Greetings, everyone and anyone! Welcome to The History Junkie. I'm a history major at the University of Alabama, and I want to study museum studies in grad school. I'm fascinated by history of any kind, but I especially love American history.

I plan to use this blog to post whatever strikes my historical fancy, but you can expect these things:

  •  Photos of my collections of vintage and antique jewelry, books, magazines, bottles, fossils, and other various interesting old things
  • Interesting text from old books and magazines I have
  • Interesting advertisements
  • Links to cool historical websites I've come across
  • Photos of old cemeteries
  • Photos and information about historic sites I've been to or want to visit
  • Interesting trivia and facts
  • Recommendations of books (kids' books, historical fiction, non-fiction, and also interesting finds I've made on Google books)
  • Ghost stories and folk tales
  • Profiles of historical figures
  • Local history
  • Historical recipes and crafts
  • Tips on dating collectibles
  • The occasional family history tidbit or anecdote
  • Information on events and shops relating to history or antiques
  • Current events pertaining to history or archaeology
  • Profiles of UNICEF World Heritage Sites
All that to say this will be a melting pot of all things historical. But I'd love for y'all to share things with me too! Together we can learn more about our shared past.

Always,
Callie
