A (VERY) tentative schedule

Because this blog is pretty eclectic, I've come up with a loose schedule for the types of posts you can expect from me each day. My guest authors are free to write whatever they want whenever, and my schedule will vary according to inspiration, material, and my real life. But for now, here's what you can safely expect from me:

  • MONDAY:
  • Collection Day: Highlights from my collection of vintage stuff and a little bit of info on it
  • Book Club Night: Books for kids and adults, fiction and non, varied selections, but always educational
  • Monday Midnight Snack: Calender of upcoming events and the occasional plug for an awesome antique shop

  • TUESDAY:
  • Insider Trading Tuesday: Verbatim text from primary sources, because nothing makes history come alive like first-hand information from the people who were there
  • The Campfire: A ghost story or folk tale, mostly because I love ghost stories; besides, what's cooler than actually meeting history? Also, storytelling is so ingrained in the South we're born with it in our DNA.
  • News Day: Historical and archaeological news, plus a discussion of ethical issues encountered in collecting and studying the past.

  • WEDNESDAY:
  • Commercial Break: Vintage ads, because they fascinate me, and they're about the best indications of where a people's priorities lie at any given time.
  • Really Cool People: Just what it says.
  • Save Our History: Profile of a UNICEF World Heritage Site, a museum, or a story about a site that is in danger of being lost forever.

  • THURSDAY:
  • Educational Time Waster: Links to addictive, though educational, history websites
  • Local Color: Because I've got a soft spot for my hometown, and Alabama gets such a bad rap.
  • A Short History of Something: Just what it says, the history of something different each week.

  • FRIDAY:
  • Really Cool Cemeteries: Again, self-explanatory.
  • Vintage Life: A recipe or craft from the past. 100% authentic.
  • Random Something of my Choosing: The Wild Card: it could be a picture, photo, video, whatever.

  • SATURDAY:
  • The Vintage Traveler: Awesome places to put on your travel bucket list
  • The Dating Game: How to date your antique and vintage items
  • This Week in History: Shout outs for birthdays and major events

  • SUNDAY:
  • Relatively Useful Information: Trivia to impress your friends (or bore them)
  • The DNA Detective: Genealogy tips and stories
  • Coming Up Next: Sneak preview of what I've got planned for next week
This should be the last business post for quite some time. (I really hate writing them.) I'm ready to get to the fun stuff!

Always,
Callie
