Baby names that aren't ridiculous

I love my name. If you don't know me, my name is Callie. I was named after my great-great-grandmother, whom I never met. When my parents got married, they were given a framed set of doilies. My mother saw that the back was inscribed: "Made by Callie Jane Thomas Lee." Twenty-odd years ago, Callie was a rather unusual name. I could never buy a key chain or coffee mug or necklace that bore my name, which was quite distressing to me as a young child. Now, however, I wouldn't trade my name for the world. And it seems that the rest of the world has come around to what a swell name it is, because today Callie is ranked #212 in popularity, which is exactly what is was ranked back in 1901.

All this data is taken from the Social Security Administration, which has collected the 1000 most popular baby names for every year since 1880.

The names listed below have made the list every year between 1880 and 2011. For the love of all that is holy, please consider giving your child one of these names before you go sticking y's in places they have no business being.
